ISLAMABAD: Introducing our younger generation with computer and IT skills would be best investment for the future of our country. The announcement from the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz in this regard is very welcoming however a follow-up strategy should be evolved immediately to ensure the implementation of this vision. Munawar Iqbal, the Central President of the Pakistan Computer Association said this in a statement while commenting on the latest announcement of the CM Punjab

The Central President of the PCA said that the improvement in the education sector and establishment of IT labs in 4,286 schools and recruitment of 40,000 educators would leave far-reaching effects on the IT sector, provided the efficient implementation on this project.

He said that IT and computer industry is the backbone of all modern economies However, unfortunately Pakistan lag behind than other nations of the region in this vital sector, which have been ignored by the consecutive regimes. He added further that setting up of computer labs in schools to equip the new generations with modern knowledge would be a giant leap to improve the situation as 3.4 million students were supposed to be benefited from the labs each year.

Munawar Iqbal said that other provincial governments and federal government should also take similar measures as an effort to make Pakistan a compatible nation today’s technologically advanced world.

The PCA has always been instrumental for the growth of the IT and Computer industry in Pakistan and its ready to cooperate with any official initiative which would be aiming at promotion of this vital sector of the economy, he concluded.
