PCA office bearers meet of and on with Government officials, exchange ideas on policy matters apprise them about the various problems being faced and generally works for the betterment of the business community to raise awareness on issues that affect the IT services industry of the country.
Recently, PCA has been deeply involved in raising public concern about the adverse impact of Governmentr17;s decision to enforce 15% GST on Computers and its Accessories in the budget 2006-07. Our intensive campaign, efforts in collaboration with other concerned organizations resulted in a favorable carve out specifically all the stakeholders of the IT industry. PCA is currently engaged in strenuous efforts to repeal 15 % GST that negatively affect the IT services industry.
There is still lot of work to be done to increase the profile of the IT services industry. PCA is endeavoring hard to ensure that legislators understand how the industry operates and its contribution to the economy.
We are also working to set standards for consistency in business practices and ensure compliance with legislation. This can be accomplished through memberr17;s meeting industry standard contracts and regular member surveys.
We invite all of you to get involved in these efforts. Join PCA to enlarge its base so that we can continue to represent our industry on important issues and increase its profile in the business community. Broad base will strengthen your body, making it more representative and laudable. It would help in resolving the problems being faced by all the stake holders involved in the industry, by bringing them to the knowledge of authorities concerned at various forums/levels.\
